Anonymised, like all our use cases

Music in the programme, automatically reported.

Anyone who produces television has to report every piece of music used to GEMA (the German music rights society), with timings and rights data. For a TV production company, we developed an application that recognises music in finished productions, adds the rights data and prepares the report. The team only checks what is missing.

The software identifies. The team approves.

Each production gets a cue sheet with start and end times. Empty required fields are flagged. The team adds the type of use and origin, then exports the finished report with one click.

How a report comes together.

  1. Intake Finished productions land in a shared folder as audio files. The system picks them up automatically.
  2. Recognition An audio recognition service identifies known tracks by their fingerprint, with start and end times.
  3. Clean-up Our logic discards isolated matches and merges the rest into clean time segments.
  4. Enrichment Composer, lyricist and label are pulled in automatically from MusicBrainz and Discogs.
  5. Reporting The team checks, adds the type of use and origin, and exports the report.

What makes the difference.

A person approves

The software prepares. Nothing is reported until the team has checked it.

Only gaps get filled

Automatic enrichment never overwrites anything the team has already entered.

Fully traceable

Every import is logged field by field and can be undone.

Robust in operation

Background jobs with locks and retries, monitored with OpenTelemetry.
